Hey! I’m Will, a documentary-style wedding photographer. I’m in my element capturing the real, raw, and sometimes hilariously awkward moments that make your day unique. I’m not into stiff poses or fake smiles. I’m all about the candid shots, the belly laughs, and the teary-eyed hugs.
I believe photography is so much more than just a picture. We’re creating portals of moments that will transport you straight back in time for you to relive again. Let’s chat, plan, and make some magic together! (I promise, we’ll have fun!)
A slight ‘vintagey’ feel?
You might notice my photos invoke a bit of nostalgia. Or at least I try to make them anyway. That is because my editing style is heavily influenced by 35mm film stocks. The beautiful colours of film mixed with the versatility of modern digital cameras allows me to capture every moment with that vintage feel without having to change film every 36 photos.
I also carry round a point and shoot 35mm camera especially for the evening shots. There’s something about a grainy, dark, badly focused photo that I really love. They transport me back to my childhood of taking 24 photos and waiting 2 weeks to realise I forgot to turn the flash on and they’re all completely black. But every now and then you do get an absolute gem.
What else brings me joy?
When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll probably find me up a mountain somewhere. Cold, wet and wishing I’d just stayed at home. But every so often, I take my camera and experience something magical. I often look back at some of my favorite shots that I’ve included below and I am transported back to that moment. I think this is one of the most amazing things about photography. It can truly transport you to wherever you want to be?
I’m a bit of an adventure junkie, whether it’s hiking, exploring new places, or getting lost in a good book. I also have a soft spot for live music, and you might catch me at a gig when I’m not capturing love stories. Adventure, creativity, and fun are what drive me—both in life and in photography!
